Since even with the Meteor one cannot hope to to much more than display/single frame capture with the highest res. , I don't see this as a big problem. The interesting part for me is the presence of a full duplex audio interface on the same board, and the fact -- they say -- that both audio and video are extremely simple peripherals using I/O ports only. No int, no DMA --> extremely simple driver (good for didactical purposes).
