I didn't think this was a driver issue?
ie the main part is the crafting of the magic packet to wake the card up.

(But I've never used WOL so take with a grain of salt :)

Plenty :)
If you enable APM you can add the -p flat to shutdown and/or halt to power the
machine off.

(If APM is off then -p behaves like -h)
