There is a 2.x makefile that seems to have problems, and a 3.0 makefile that works for both 2.x and 3.0. Obrien had a problem with mgv reporting that it was built for 3.0 on a 2.2 system in the "About Mgv..." window...something I consider a red herring. I'll take on maintainerhood of this port in a couple of weeks and fix it up so it works right .
