Do you write off the margins of your paper as well? Let's see... > From the start of thing I wanted to try a Unix platform out, so I > tried linux different flavors, all crap to me > > I try Fbsd out "hay this looks pretty nice, put to gether with a > little more thought," > > Well the father I get into playing with it the more this shit sucks. > > I buy the cdrom v.3.3 of fbsd, all go well, compiling the kernel > works unlike linux, so I was very happy to say the least. I don't see why just being different from Linux should make it good. > no I try to up grade, fine that turn out to be a crock of shit, not > going into details. That's a mistake. If you have problems, just describing it as a "crock of shit" and refusing to go into details doesn't help. After all, In the beginning was the DEMO Project. And the Project was without form. And darkness was upon the staff members thereof. So they spake unto their Division Head, saying, "It is a crock of shit, and it stinks." And the Division Head spake unto his Department Head, saying, "It is a crock of excrement and none may abide the odor thereof." Now, the Department Head spake unto his Directorate Head, saying, "It is a container of excrement, and is very strong, such that none may abide before it." And it came to pass that the Directorate Head spake unto the Assistant Technical Director, saying, "It is a vessel of fertilizer and none may abide by its strength." And the assistant Technical Director spake thus unto the Technical Director, saying, "It containeth that which aids growth and it is very strong." And, Lo, the Technical Director spake then unto the Captain, saying, "The powerful new Project will help promote the growth of the Laboratories." And the Captain looked down upon the Project, and He saw that it was Good! > this makes me made, well think that it must be me, I format install > the basic install, then cvsup upgrade again that go ok, hay I just > upgraded the same fucking version how nice. well fuck this, > download and install 3.3 since I have no access to the site for 3.4 > or all fucken links are broken, so I them try to install some > packages from the net, error out the ass downloads the file then > error depends failed yada yada, I really fill for the money I spent > I got Shit and a lot of it, the files the book that come with the os > say to use this file on the cd and the isn't even their, that was ok > with me because I could fine other was around the issue. It's a good thing you stopped for breath, because it gives me the chance to realise that, although you have peppered your description with obscenities, you have carefully omitted all detail (as promised). > but this crape of the MAIN freebsd.org site doesn't have the > file to download on 1 of the 6 sites in the mirrored use does, Hmmm > At least NWx and Ms$ don't have shit links and fails advertisement > as you do. Again, I don't see much content. > I would be nice to run something that works like all the claims > state. I've gone to quite some trouble to read this message. All I can discern is: 1. You are quite upset about something. 2. You have chosen to use obscenities to describe the fact. 3. You don't seem to be very able to express yourself. 4. You seem to think that we're interested in this description. I'd strongly suggest that you do the following. 1. Wait until you have calmed down. 2. Go back and analyse what you did, and where things started to go wrong. 3. When you're reasonably certain you have (2) right, write it down on paper. Go into detail. 4. Look at the output of (3). Remove all obscenities. Check the details. Check the spelling. Check the punctuation. Check the line length. 5. Send it to us again. If you have done a good job on (4), you will probably get an answer helping you to solve your problem. Greg -- When replying to this message, please take care not to mutilate the original text.
