This is how it looks like: $ last dialout cuaa0 ÞÔ 1 ÑÎ× 03:00 still logged in wtmp begins ÞÔ 1 ÑÎ× 03:00:54 1970 $ ls -l /var/log/lastlog /var/log/wtmp -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 28336 21 ÓÅÎ 00:53 /var/log/lastlog -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 149636 21 ÓÅÎ 00:54 /var/log/wtmp They seem to be updated correctly.
