The following reply was made to PR ports/67815; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Mikhail Teterin <mi+kde@aldan.algebra.com> To: bug-followup@freebsd.org, clear@netaxs.com Cc: Subject: Re: ports/67815: graphics/ImageMagick no longer recognizes FlashPix Date: Mon, 24 Oct 2005 08:30:57 -0400 The FlashPix library used by ImageMagick (and by GraphicsMagick) is unmaintained. Once in a while ImageMagick updates the posted tar-ball just to change the automake/autoconf glue and annoy the maintainer(s). The r/w opening problem can, probably, be fixed by the port, but it -- and anything else wrong with FlashPix is the problem with the library itself :-( And no updates to it are expected... I did some searching around in the past -- there is code for handling the format, but it, apparently, was only available via CD-ROM (one had to pay for shipping). If you care, you can order it and see if you can make a port. Begin at http://i3a.org/ : http://www.i3a.org/pdf/resource_order_form.pdf It may even be legal to offer the source for download -- I3A may simply not want to pay for bandwidth, but don't otherwise mind the redistribution. -mi
