Those which have the knowledge to produce a more recent linux_base port, don't seem to have the time to do this. Those which tell to have time and express interest to do this, seem to lose interest or time when they get get aware of what needs to be done (see http://www.leidinger.net/blog/2011/08/29/howto-create-a-new-linux_base-port/ and http://www.leidinger.net/blog/2011/09/01/howto-add-linux-infrastructure-ports-for-a-new-linux_base-port/) Or in short: we are aware that we need something more recent since a long time, but there are no plans.
