great! glad my config kind of helped ... (i forgot to mention, but as
you probabely noticed, I have a .BE keyboard :))

you have an ESS? Lucky you! These should be supported (check the kernel
config docs (esp. the LINT config file)). 

I am stuck with an mwave shittty thing, that only works in 8bit SB
emulation, and for that to work, i must boot in a strange way (booting
into dos, loading the driver and rebooting), and I get crappy 8bit audio
and when my system resumes, all sound is gone :(
