Hi, I've been trying to get MySQL running on 5.0-Release with no success. (5.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE #0: Thu Jan 16 22:16:53 GMT 2003 root@hollin.btc.adaptec.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386) Installed MySQL323-server via the ports, when ever i try to run mysql i receive this problem: 030320 10:20:41 mysqld started 030320 10:20:44 Can't start server : Bind on unix socket: Permission denied 030320 10:20:44 Do you already have another mysqld server running on socket: /tmp/mysql.sock ? 030320 10:20:44 Aborting 030320 10:20:44 /usr/local/libexec/mysqld: Shutdown Complete 030320 10:20:44 mysqld ended (mysql isn't currently running) Am I doing something drasticly wrong? or is there a bug within the ports. (I've tried deinstalling and installing several times each without success) I've had this working perfectly on 4.4 on other machines.
