However today I got email from a first time user who got the same panic with a very different NIC - a 3CR990SVR97 (Typhoon) PCI 100MBit card, when trying to install FreeBSD 5.2. (BTW he asked me, wether it makes sense to try FreeBSD again and I pointed him to FreeBSD 4.9.) So I guess this is not a problem with the ep driver alone.
