Also ghostscript is different, because the dialog (which can be avoided if you are in BATCH mode) choses which drivers are to be builtin into the binaries. The list of installed binaries is always the same. The difference between gnuls and fileutils is approx 1.5MB. Is this a real problem today? If it really is, we should keep gnuls. (I needed at least two programs to get a script, which came from the Linux camp, working, ls and touch) Short conclusion: If Brian will continue maintanance of gnuls I see no problems in keeping it.
