I have moved vinum volumes from 4.11 to 6.1 without any problem (including mirrored, striped and raid-5 on the same host). You have to move the mount device from /dev/vinum to /dev/gvinum of course. If you're using vinum for the root drive things may be more complex - I haven't any experience of that. Simon
