We did a restore of a 1.2 gig partition. The restore was done from a dat tape to a completely empty partition. It took 10(!) hours. Can anybody explain why this should take so long? This is the tape-unit: st0(ncr0:4:0): 200ns (5 Mb/sec) offset 8. st0: density code 0x13, variable blocks, write-enabled pci0:13: vendor=0x1095, device=0x640, class=storage [not supported] I suspect blocksizes but dont know where to set this. (not with mt so it seems). -Guido
