This is basically the same Winglows is using as the default. The server should be operated in StaticColor visual, otherwise even the first application might run out of color cells. The 1-bit server does even work on a Hercules adaptor, though the aspect ratio is a bit strange (348x720 resolution). Only people with EGAs or CGAs are running into serious problems.
