To: stable@freebsd.org Date: Fri, 10 Sep 1999 04:18:24 -0400 (EDT) From: mwlucas@exceptionet.com X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4ME+ PL32 (25)] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG Well, 3-stable seems stable enough that I decided not to wait for 3.5, and upgraded a couple systems from 2.8-stable. Everything went fine with make upgrade, moving the libraries, etc. After I rebooted, however, all my passwords were invalid. I had to go to the console, boot in single-user mode to get in as root, and reset all the passwords. Any thoughts on what I missed? These boxes were both originally installed with DES... does a system after make upgrade use a different crypt?
