The port checks for one of the kerberos libraries being installed - if you don't have a complete and up-to-date kerberos installation (but maybe have a stale version of this library), perhaps this was the cause of your earlier PR (I hadn't got around to looking at it yet). I think it requires kerb4, although you might be able to get it to work with kerb5 if you played with it.
