|Do I have to make a separate non-DOS partition for FreeBSD to reside in? |Also, is there something like LILO that will allow me to select the |operating system I want? (Win95 or BSD) Yes FreeBSD does need its own partition. If you don't have space and need to "down-size" your DOS partition, you could use a program called FIPS, which was written for this purpose (on ftp.freebsd.org). However, I've read a number of posts on the lists to the effect that doing so increases your chances for corrupting those FIPS-downsized DOS partitions when accessing the partitions from FreeBSD. It would seem a fresh backup/normal repartition/install OR buying another hard disk might be a better solution, unless you don't intend to modify your DOS partitions from FreeBSD (i.e. don't mount them or mount them read-only). And to your second question, there are a number of programs out there to multi-boot between multiple operating systems. I've found OS/BS (v2.0b8) the most flexible for my needs, but the FreeBSD default boot loader BOOTEASY works well too. Both versions of OS/BS can be found at: ftp://ftp/freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/tools/dos-tools Randall Hopper rhh@ct.picker.com
