New ASUS NCR 810, $60	(wholesale).

New generic NCR 810, $40	(a customer of mine found them in some
				discount catalog, they seem to work 
				just fine too).

Note:  3 x ASUS NCR 810 = 1 x AHA 2940.  1 x NCR 810 is very similar in
performance to 1 x AHA 2940.  ;-)  Regrettably your MB needs to have the
SYMBIOS support, but all good motherboards seem to   ;-)

I am not arguing {for,against} {SCSI,IDE}.  I'm just encouraging
responsibility and reality in numbers.  I use both SCSI and IDE disks -
generally I select SCSI when I need more than a single disk.  Both have
their places.
