I greatly appreciate the strong support that I enjoy from the FreeBSD community; it makes my job a lot easier. 8) Firstly; Jason: If you or any of your customers are having issues with 3ware products in conjunction with FreeBSD, you are strongly encouraged to contact me so that we can work them out. I'm not aware of anyone that's currently suffering major issues, and most certainly not with the driver. As for 3ware "compiling" (you mean writing) the driver - no, it would make no sense for them to do so. They have, however, provided me with excellent support, sample hardware, answers to awkward questions and all in all they have been a great company to work with. Folks in general: If you call 3ware and get an unhelpful answer, suggest that the tech check with their supervisor. If they're still not willing to provide you with assistance, let me know and I'll apply some gentle encouragement. It's important to be polite and persistent though; you represent revenue to 3ware, and that's a point worth making. As for the quote; I don't think a witch-hunt is in order. Nicole; your boss is welcome to talk to me directly. I would certainly appreciate the opportunity to clear my name. 8) Regards, Mike > > Greetings! > > To be clear, Rackable Systems is a BIG fan, and supporter of FreeBSD as an > O/S and an organization and would never trash BSD.
