I've encountered the following problem using Seagate STT20000A Hornet Travan 20Gb streamer (IDE, Travan 5, connected to primary IDE controller as slave), tape "Imation Travan5", under FreeBSD 3.3-RELEASE. Performing dump -0uc -d 67733 -f /dev/rwst0 / causes the following to be output by dump: [...first portion skipped, it looks like normal dump work...] DUMP: DUMP: 25933 tape blocks on 1 volume DUMP: finished in 68 seconds, throughput 381Kbytes/sec DUMP: level 0 dump on Wed Oct 11 16:51:37 2000 DUMP: closing /dev/rwst0 On this stage, IDE controller hangs. The following is displayed on the console: wst0: 26542080d total bytes transferred atapi0.1: controller not ready, status=c0 , error=c0 atapi0.1: controller not ready for cmd atapi0.1: controller not ready for cmd atapi0.1: controller not ready for cmd wst0: Sense media failed Has anybody encountered the same problem and found a solution?
