I have two amd64 workstations running -current, one with an HD4850 and one with an HD2600XT. With or without that patch, both machines work fine with those GPUs. If I swap those cards for either an x850 or an x1900, though, and they lockup immediately upon starting X if xf86-video-ati is built with that patch: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=kern/155319 If I rebuild the driver without that patch, both machines work fine with either the x850 or the x1900.
