Specificaly I wnat to greo through the /var/log/messages file and email myself any ipfw packet reject information. Since /var/log/messages is rotated (daily ?), I need to synchronize my cjecks with this, or I might miss some logs. I looke around in /etc/periodic, and I am a bit puzzled. First I did not see the specifc script that dealt with the rotating of these logs. Am I overlooking it? Second, how can I add something lcal here, in a fashinon that will not be overwritten by a "make world"?
