I've reviewed KATO's patches. However, please remove the last two of the MASTER_SITES once you commit. Also, KATO's patch to the Makefile includes a hardcoded install of the binary to /usr/local/bin. This is not necessary since the port Makefile already does the job (and it puts it in the right location, normally /usr/X11R6/bin).
