I tested by widening the version in Makefile, and it works - so it doesn't =
seem
like the patches to the other files are necessary.

I'm good with this. I have a couple questions:

1. Is it preferable to do a commit only to Makefile, since the other patches
don't appear to be necessary?
2. How did you determine that the update to py-pathspec caused a break in
py-dbt-core?

I'm specifically curious about Q2 so I can identify potentially breaking
downstream ports as I maintain dependencies.
