My PS/2 Logitech Pilot 3 button mouse works fine under 2.2.8 (&
did under 2.2.7 as well). It's a while since I set it up, but IIRC
it is supported in the GENERIC kernel but isn't enabled by default.

Try ``boot -c'' again and ensure it is enabled (look in the lower
pane, "Inactive drivers -> Input", for it). As a confirmation that
it is enabled you should see a conflict with the sc0 console driver
(and a note that this is an allowed conflict.
