Hi Mayuresh, Can't help with mutt; I've always used pine, in recent years alpine. The only thing 'scary' about alpine is its number of (runtime) config options, but I've only ever changed a few things from sane defaults. alpine has no dependency on perl, so I'm wondering what happened there? root@x200:/usr/ports/mail/alpine # ldd `which alpine` # [FreeBSD 9.3] /usr/local/bin/alpine: libintl.so.9 => /usr/local/lib/libintl.so.9 (0x800c1b000) libcrypt.so.5 => /lib/libcrypt.so.5 (0x800e25000) libpam.so.5 => /usr/lib/libpam.so.5 (0x801044000) libncurses.so.8 => /lib/libncurses.so.8 (0x801251000) libthr.so.3 => /lib/libthr.so.3 (0x80149f000) libc.so.7 => /lib/libc.so.7 (0x8016c2000) libiconv.so.3 => /usr/local/lib/libiconv.so.3 (0x801a20000) Check full details at https://www.freshports.org/mail/alpine/ cheers, Ian
