From: asami@cs.berkeley.edu (Satoshi Asami) Sender: hackers-owner@freebsd.org Precedence: bulk * This SNAP naming seems to be getting a bit inconsistent; if * 2.0.5-950622-SNAP was a "post-2.0.5" snapshot, shouldn't * 2.1.0-950726-SNAP be a "post-2.1" snapshot? For snapshots, we are going to use the "next" version number from now on. This is because we now have two development branches, 2.2 (aka -current) and 2.1 (aka -stable). The naming change was needed to make sure people can easily see which branch the snapshot is coming from. * Or is it just me? ;-) Or did I sleep through the 2.1 release? ;-) As far as I can tell, 2.1 is not released yet. But who knows, I may have slept throught it too. ;> Satoshi
