Looking for some advise on the behavior of restore. While doing a restore of a file from a previous dump. Here is how the session go's. restore -i -s 1 -f my.tape.system.com:/dev/nrsa0 restore> add myfile.txt restore > extract You have not read any tapes yet. Unless you know which volume your file(s) are on you should start with the last volume and work towards the first. Specify next volume #: No mater what I enter it just pops the same message up asking me to specify next volume. Unless I enter in 4 as the last volume. That gives me this message.... Specify next volume #: 4 Mount tape volume 4 Enter ``none'' if there are no more tapes otherwise enter tape name (default: /dev/nrsa0) I enter /dev/nrsa0 it gives me the question again. I enter in none it gives me the question again. What could I possibly be doing wrong? Thanks. Keith ================================= I here by change the name of RedHat to RedSplat. Keith W.
