If your server is still running 8.4-STABLE than the server is quite old
(9.3 is from 2014 july, so 8.4 is older).

I would start with new hardware and installing 14.0-STABLE. Installing
packages or ports and then transfer the data from the old to the new
server.

Nice to read you're in Nairobi. When 8.4 came out I stayed a few weeks in
Kisumu.
