That doesn't work, that's the reason why I run iTunes in a VM, first on
Windows XP and since Apple dropped support, now on Windows 7.

I never used iCloud.

I didn't follow the whole thread, however, if I don't want to use
iTunes, I use emails to share files between my PC and my iPad.
