Sorry, but this is not the "business world" as you know it, and the FreeBSD Foundation is not a company. The many contributors to FreeBSD did not contribute their code so that it could be managed as if it were the product of a for-profit corporation, nor did they want its use to be restricted (or they would not have contributed under the BSD license).
