Thanks v/r > Shane > Here's what I use: In my /etc/ttys file, the line for ttyv8: ttyv8 "/usr/local/bin/kdm -nodaemon" xterm on secure This starts kdm (the KDE login manager) at boot. Then I am able to go into = KDE=20 without any scripts or 'startkde' or anything.
