That's why this stuff was ever in arch-specific files, arm and mips had some flavors without ET support. If we no longer have any platforms that need to run without event timers, there is some more extensive cleanup that could be done beyond just moving this entry to sys/conf/files (and I'd be up for doing that work, if I can find time). -- Ian
