https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=191790 Bug ID: 191790 Summary: [wishlist][exp-run] use libedit (base) over libreadline (port) by default or when no libreadline (base) is available Product: Ports Tree Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: Needs Triage Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Infrastructure Assignee: freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: jbeich@vfemail.net Depends on: 162948 Created attachment 144561 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=144561&action=edit default Not every port requires GNU libreadline. And the base system already replaced it with libedit (except gdb). Let's do the same by default for ports if old version was enough. But allow users to opt out. /usr/include/edit exists on every supported release. So, -exp runs is to catch -lreadline hardcodes as in lang/lua52. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
