--Rx5mI3N1/4Ub3WA/ Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, Trying to be a good sysadmin, i like to regularly update. Imagine my=20 surprise when my desktop wouldn't load xorg. I mean, I checked in /usr/ports/UPDATING, and to be sure, /usr/src/UPDATING, *nothing* about nvidia to be found for around this time. As I'm sure everyone here is aware, we are exhorted to check UPDATING so we're not caught out. So *WHY* were the consequences of PR 261666 not in /usr/ports/UPDATING? nvidia-driver was updated to (560) i think. 5-something.. the instance befo= re was moved to nvidia-driver-470 as it's now legacy. That's great and all, but *WHY* the *F**K* isn't in *UPDATING??!??!?!?!* Why have /usr/ports/UPDATING at all if you're not, like, gonna update it?! This isn't the first or second time, with other widely-used ports. I don't use a whole load of ports. This is a desktop, so ~1500 ports or so. It ain't just me using freebsd as a desktop, and it ain't just me using=20 nvidia-driver. Lots of ppl might be disinclined to fire off an email like this.=20 "Install linux, at least it works", theyll say. And they'll delete FreeBSD. Great job. Not. --=20 J. --Rx5mI3N1/4Ub3WA/ Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAABCAAdFiEE8n3tWhxW11Ccvv9/s8o7QhFzNAUFAmJPbQkACgkQs8o7QhFz NAVODg/9Epn+JMgbuPOi0/wKPbpc8S0CSZyIxADO+ckIPrxUnyfuirco6u73QbsX iDLOiXNGmE8Tn4gpXmRfsMeat2r7wetwVTp46fZxkfrDYr/nZSwCjk7sbC2+mBt7 Sx+cFloo+otgXjdDWXKUeo0D4bIM5ullMkA3dAZovuNEWR8i3gWblsgXSCQ2o7To vnVqZjPsaEhdodfbVyCgOOFULLNxtVSKhR7Cyrxp9HrSVECKNYZBdU0bcX5HBW/P Fa/XrpwNLkihaTT2d96MwZh4qq2AU1flypIj+rRFVD0MPTdyrwAnZgNl0D8IwdlX 9Iu7YaV11pLamqsyFZdmXckropt3KX97A4KyWqb090g+RJ1FUgrGZZdMgru6Ehx6 hCIuTxIECFBRBz9oGLr5ad5fa3KGxkgLnBsZYxBX/7HI3eZDLG0WNZG6sp9SjLrW pRaq0u/whJpARe6SVfmvvL1BiJd9LioaHe/m0+1JmIUgB9ZTsVnyzWXZrZuPBHtR 5z5dqpGLsJngpKZTZgeEp6Ma+pi54uVSKEUNCDHPFSplfWfZTMVNDa7XmhwcN3kV +Ju1S+y/w/mP+PWbtONHYAX6T3GwKASFtZrLzv7q2X67qPZ2pWYOepUd3cvbP9uq nh42reRg4U27x2AxFFBKj9W79qRuE90QHS20NEF4fsC0mWdB0ms= =onxN -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Rx5mI3N1/4Ub3WA/--
