I had the "same" problem (see other posts) and was able to get the system to run after booting from the CDROM drive. But the transfer portion of that software looses stuff. Copy the distributions to the hard drive and then run the install.sh or just run it from the CDROM drive itself. I've had no trouble with pkg_add or ports building from the CDROM, just when using sysinstall.
