I know you said that the patch in PR#292884 did not stop the crashes, but at least one crash showed a failure w.r.t. a UDP socket, so I am hoping that this patch plus the one in PR#292884 will stop the crashes? If you can test with both this patch and the one in PR#292884 applied, that would be appreciated.
