By "basic" I mean just a single IDE drive, floppy drive, ATAPI CD-ROM, controller card and video card. Until yesterday, it was running just fine. All of the sudden, it hangs in the boot process at the following point: FreeBSD 2.2.7-RELEASE#0: Wed Jul 22 08:48:29 GMT 1998 root@builder.cdrom.com/usr/src/sys/compile/GENERIC When I try to boot from the boot floppy, it hangs at exactly the same point (the message is slightly different in that a different date is referenced and the kernel referenced is BOOTMFS). I can boot other machines from the same boot floppy just fine. The machine will boot MSDOS just fine. I'm at a loss. Can anyone shed any light on what might be going on here? Thanks for any input. ... doug _____________________________________________________________________ Doug Jolley mailto://doug@footech.com http://www.footech.com Don't bogart that file, my friend.
