i have a t40p.  the big problem is resume locks up the box
with an ata error.  oh, and then there is the problem of
screen staying blank and having to do teh vty hack to get
it back.  but you can get it back from that, unlike the
resuyme lock up.

otherwise ok with X, gnome, ... in stable and current.
