Mike, I did. I thought about it and I also tried it. What puzzled me is whether a request sent through ethernet a "qualified" input, like hit a key or move the mouse. I tried and never really put it to sleep. One time it worked, then when I pinged my computer I got no answer. I suppose the ethernet interface would be activated when you send a request because: (1) In windows 95, you put it standby, and you can still ping it, and those telnet and ftp daemons are still alive; (2) If the ethernet interface can not be activated remotely, why I suspend it instead of shutting it down? The reasons why I did not mention my own computer are: (1) I have a minor brand laptop (Acer); (2) I still run a 2.2.6R with PAO, which I think may not such "typical". Thanks.
