[-- Attachment #1 --] Hi Richard, first: leave the list cced, as it is very probably, that you get better answers by a greater audience ;-) > Attached you will find my dmesg output. I noticed one line saying "isa0 to > many dependant configs (8)". I am sure this is my problem but I'm not quite > sure what it means. No this isnt your problem. This will appear for all AWE cards, as they give more than eight suggestions for PnP configs, where FreeBSD only expects up to eight. But this does no harm at all. BTW, this was answered some times on this list, so it would be good to learn how to search the web for the archives of the lists. You can start on the FreeBSD page http://www.freebsd.org/search/search.html#mailinglists or e.g on www.deja.com/usenet or any other suited search engine. I can see nothing special with your dmesg, very similar to mine indeed (I also own a BX-base motherboard). There seem to be no conflicts for IRQ nor adresses with your Soundblaster. I havent your previous mails handy: Did you cd /dev && sh ./MAKEDEV snd0 ? I havent done more to get my card working, maybe some other guy can help you further. > Thanks again, Never mind. > p.s. - how do you get access to these mailing lists, I would like to help > out where I can. Although I am not an expert with the BSD kernel, I can hold > my own and probably help some people with GNU tools, basic sys admin > questions.. ect.. Look at: http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/eresources.html#ERESOURCES-MAIL There the different lists are described, followed by an explanation how to subscribe.
