     We got someone to run norton diagnostics on it.
     It had walking one's RAM test fail.  We tried swapping the
     RAM and it still failed.  We swapped out the motherboard
     and everything was happy.

Probably either bad RAM or bad cache. Try swapping your RAM 
and disabling cache.
