I am "reacting" after being provoked by your disregard for the way this project works, but I am not the one being "reactionary". > you will note that I left plenty > of room in to remove the cruft... after 2 weeks. *NOT* now. > > I did not unilaterly decide that the cruft would remain in forever. You unilaterally decided to commit objectionable code over the authority of the principle architect of the project. Its really that simple. > And, I would like to point out, that it works both ways... when all > DG does it veto every damn thing that comes across his desk, it's just > as useless and anti social as if I were to ignore him. Perhaps the Project's notion of progress and process conflicts with your world view. If this is the case, feel free to complain about it, or decide that the conflict cannot be resolved, but you will not be given an exception to working within the constraints of the projects development policy. > You seem to make it seem as though every commit I've ever made is > somehow going against the grain of what FreeBSD is meant to be. You don't know what the hell I've committed, do you? > You are just being reactionary. This has nothing to do with the quality of your past or future contributions to the project. This has to do with what the project *is* and how it is run. No developer, regardless of their potential, can be allowed to violate the principles of the project or we will stop being FreeBSD. If the choice comes down to benefiting from your valuable contributions or maintaining an orderly development process where developers enjoy mutual respect, the project will just have to 'survive' without Matt Dillon. -- Justin To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe cvs-all" in the body of the message
