Since we don't have a utf-8 console and single-charset xterms work fine
for most people, there's not much need for one.

-current is currently running a 5.2-20020615 snapshot, and will most
likely get 5.3 very soon (5.3 is in prerelease stage right now).
-stable will probably get upgraded to 5.3 if it can be done without
impacting the rest of the system.
