When you say you put cafebsd.dhs.org "in there", where is there? Usually when you see that message from httpd it means that it can't determine the hostname of the machine. In httpd.conf there is a directive "ServerName", edit httpd.conf and set that directive to the name of your machine. Apache should startup then. (Assuming there are no other configuration errors.) You can use the apachectl script found in the bin directory of your installation to test your config file.
