I'm stuck at home right now with a z39 terminal. I'm having trouble logging into my FreeBSD box sitting in my office. I dial up to the terminal server, specify my machine. I get the login prompt, but then no matter what I type, nothing happens. I think what's happening is that login is setting the terminal to 8 bits but the z39 is only 7bit. Is there anyway I can allow a pty to be set to 7 bits? I know that I shouldn't have a getty specification for any of the pty's, so I was wondering if I could specify a specific pty for telnetd to launch (ugh, yet another entry in /etc/services 8), and then have an entry for that specific pty in /etc/gettytab. Oh well, I should sleep. Thanks for listening. As always, any and all pointers will be appreciated. --Jerry 8) Jerry Alexandratos % - % "Nothing inhabits my (8 8) alexandr@louie.udel.edu % - % thoughts, and oblivion (8 8) darkstar@strauss.udel.edu % - % drives my desires."
