Once I stumbled onto a page that compared and contrasted packages and ports, but I lost the bookmark and can not find the page again on your site. The left link bar on the homepage, under Software, contains an item Ported Applications. It would be great if there were a parallel item right there for packages. Either that or if you are trying to keep that link bar short, replace the item with a link to a ports and packages page - ideally a page that links to both the ports collection and the packages collection and explains the difference between the two. If instead you have separate homepage links for the ports collection and the packages collection, it would be good if each of those pages contained links to the other related pages (ports page link to packages, packages page link to ports, both pages link to page describing the difference). It would also be helpful to be able to search for both ports and packages. Usually I will want a package if available and otherwise I will use a port (if I don't have it backwards). By the way, when I do any search today, I get a list of documents, any of which when clicked on brings me to your document-not-found page. For example this happenned when I searched for "packages" using the search feature on the homepage. If anyone knows where that page is that compares and contrasts ports and packages, I would appreciate a direct reply with the url, since I am not a member of this mailing list.
