It may be worth contecting Vsevolod Lobko <seva@alex-ua.com>
He is also in St.Petersberg and has got FreeBSD working with
a bt848 based TV capture card.

I would suggest getting the same make card as him.

If you want the AverMedia card the driver _should_ work.
There is some support for one of the AverMedia cards.
As long as it has no Stereo Audio decoder chips, and uses a
standard Temic or Philips SECAM tuner you should be OK.
It may take half a day to configure the driver for your card but
it is easily done as long as you have access to Windows 95.

Email Vsevolodo first though.
