I submitted this PR (of changes from NetBSD) and am curious about
a few things...

1) Is there an interest in putting these types of changes into
   FreeBSD, and

2) if there is, would having one giant integrated patch help that
   effort?

If there is an interest, and a single patch would help, I'm willing
to work on one...
