PS/2) mouse, right? No easy fix then. It loses power while switching, and after reconnecting, it comes up with the default values. (Apparently, the BIOS has adjusted a higher rate previously.) It might perhaps possible to get an indication of the reconnect, and re-initialize the mouse to the desired values, but AFAIK, there are no provisions for it in FreeBSD.
